My new project "The Apocalypse" has been selected by the board of juries to attend the Docs by the Sea Storytelling Lab in Bali ( 23-27 August, 2017 ) and Pitching Forum ( 29-30 August, 2017 ).
The Apocalypse is talking about that in the ever-shrinking Bissu community time, Eka (50 years old) continues her role as the servant of earth and sky’s God, whilst waiting for pammase (revelation) from the Gods that is yet to be declared as the successor of Bissus. In the mean time, the rise of the radical religious group continue its life threatening pressure on transgender community in Indonesia, and it brings back the trauma of a massacre in 1965 and by the Suharto’s regime as they were accused as a communist, sinner and against religious beliefs.
The Docs By The Sea, an international pitching forum for creative documentary projects focusing on Southeast Asia. It is an excellent opportunity for networking, obtaining industry insights, and having your projects funded and distributed. Thirty documentary projects has been selected to pitch. More than twenty-five international decision-makers will be invited to provide feedback and to consider potential collaborations with the selected projects.
